Pottery Wheel Throwing Class for Adults:                           Next Class Starts May 13th/14th, 2014

Learn the various aspects of wheel thrown pottery, including how to wedge, center, throw, trim and glaze.  This is a pottery wheel class for beginners and hobbyists.  Classes meet once a week at the times shown below with 2 hours instruction and final 1/2 hour with routine clean up.  Cost for this 6 week session is $165 and includes glazes, kiln time and the first 25 pound bag of clay.  Potery toolkit will be supplied to first time students.  Additional clay supplies can be purchased as needed.  We will also be rcycling clay, which will be available for free use.

Instruction will include how to wedge, center, throw and trim clay.  We will spend time getting the feel of the clay and practicing techniques to yeild simple forms such as bowls, mugs, vases, etc.  Week 6 will cover the glazing process.

All pottery wheel classes are taught by Paula Dodd, member Magic Valley Arts Council.  Reservations for classes are now being taken at Hands On.  Call 736-4475 to reserve your spot.  Deposit $75 at time of reservation with balance due at first class.

KIDZ KLAY IMPRINTZ Special Sale - April 1-18th

ATTENTION DADS: Mother's Day is quickly approaching. Looking for that perfect sentimental gift for mom but short on time? We've got an idea for you.  Let us capture those little hand and foot memories with a clay impression plaque.  Clay handprint and footprint plaques are a wonderful keepsake which will last a lifetime.  You choose the shape, size and colors and bring in the kids. We do all the rest, including the painting.  Prices vary based on the size of the project ($20-$30).  Allow 3 weeks for pickup.  SPEICAL NOTE: If you call us (at 736-4475) and schedule your appointment ahead of time, we will give you a 20% discount.  


At Hands On, we offer a variety of walk-in project kits so that customers may do a fused glass project at any time, even without an appointment.  If you would like to take a more intensive glass class or learn how to make a project which is not on our "walk-in-project" list, you'll want to take one of our FUSED GLASS Basics Classes.  We offer these classes on the fourth Saturday of the month 10am-1pm.  Discover the basics of working with hot glass. Come learn about the different types of glass, how to score and break glass, volume control, slumping and dichroic glass. Our classes are designed for people who are not artists but just want to have fun.  If you’ve always been curious about how glass pieces are made, this class is for you.  Classes cost $10 plus the price of the project you choose. All tools and materials are provided.

Tuesday April 8th or Tuesday April 15th 6:30 pm.
Join us for a painting class where we’ll show you step by step how to create this fabulous cross platter. You choose your ceramic piece and we provide everything else—no experience is required. $10 class fee (includes studio and glazing fees, tools, instruction, patterns and snacks) plus the price of the piece you choose to paint. We require the $10 class fee to be paid at the time of your reservation. This month's project is a SWIRLY CROSS PLATTER.



Decorative Mosaic Trivet

This project-based course culminates in the creation of a beautiful mosaic trivet of your own design.  Mosaic is an ancient and versatile art form that can transform any ordinary project into a beautiful work of art. Everything you need is supplied: the sign base, all types of tesserae (including varieties of vitreous glass, stained glass, ceramic tile, metallic gems), glue, grout and other miscellaneous tools.  In the first session, you’ll learn about mosaic pattern layout, cutting tesserae and mosaic-ing basics.  In the second session, we’ll cover the grouting process. At the end of the class, you’ll have learned a new art form and you’ll have a new piece of décor for your home.  $20 Class Fee  paid to CSI plus $30 materials fee payable to instructor at class. Thursday April 17th 6pm or Friday April 25th 6pm or Monday April 28th 4pm.
This month’s theme is MOTHER’S DAY. We’ll help the kiddos create some
special Mother’s Day Gifts for Mom or Grandma. Choices include a Handprint Plate,
a Flower Pot or Picture Frame. You pick it and we’ll help them create it
and we’ll waive the studio fees too! $12 per project.  If you’re looking for other
suggestions, we’ve got lots of those too.  SPECIAL NOTE: We are offering one of these classes during our DIVA Night on Thursday April 17th so that you can bring the kids, drop them off with us and we'll entertain them in our party room with snacks and Mother's Day projects.  All the while, you can hang out at DIVA Night with your girlfriends.  No baby sitter required.  Open to kids ages 7-12.



Join us on the first Friday of each month 7:30-10:30 for First Friday Music Night, featuring live music, studio-fee-free pottery painting (for new projects), drinks, snacks and a whole lot of fun. This is family-friendly event and a great way to spend a Friday evening in downtown Twin Falls. No reservations required. Just drop in anytime between 7:30pm and 10:30pm in the evening. Check out the other businesses in downtown Twin Falls that are also open on First Fridays (Rudy's, A Cook's Paradise, Jensen Ringmakers, Scrappin' Girlfriends and Twin Falls Sandwich Company) and then stop in at our place, grab a drink and hang out and be creative.

Friday April 4th: Mary Grace & Jackson



A unique storytime & pottery painting adventure especially designed for kids ages 2-8. We read a story together, have a snack & complete a painting project that relates to the story. Parent participation is required. Call the studio at 208-736-4475 for information and reservations.

A ladies night out event, devoted to Creating a handmade gift, Partaking in treats and Relaxing with friends (a little CPR for you). On Thursday April 17th 6-10 pm, we'll be hosting a fun and relaxing theme - InSPAration.  Tosha and Elyssa from THE SPRUCE GOOSE will be providing mini pedicures for all the painters. Our treat! We'll provide the mini-pedi and a snack; you bring the drinks and your friends. This is your opportunity to get re-inspired and re-charge your battery while painting and socializing with friends. You might even meet some new friends.   It's going to be a great night!  Cost is $12 cover charge plus the price of your pieces.  The cover charge includes studio & glaze fees, snacks, pedicures and so much more!  Advanced reservations are appreciated by calling 736-4475.
