FUSED GLASS CLASSES
At Hands On, we offer a variety of walk-in project kits so that customers may do a fused glass project at any time, even without an appointment. If you would like to take a more intensive glass class or learn how to make a project which is not on our "walk-in-project" list, you'll want to take one of our FUSED GLASS Basics Classes. We offer these classes on the fourth Saturday of the month 10am-1pm. Discover the basics of working with hot glass. Come learn about the different types of glass, how to score and break glass, volume control, slumping and dichroic glass. Our classes are designed for people who are not artists but just want to have fun. If you’ve always been curious about how glass pieces are made, this class is for you. Classes cost $10 plus the price of the project you choose. All tools and materials are provided.
Upcoming Glass Classes Saturday August 22nd 10am
SPECIAL NOTE: If you have a group of 6 or more, we can customize a Fused Glass Class just for you! Call us to discuss the possibilities.

Decorative Mosaic Wall Hanging: Friday August 14th 6:30 pm
This project-based class culminates in the creation of a beautiful mosaic wall hanging of your own design. Mosaic is an ancient and versatile art form that can transform any ordinary project into a beautiful work of art. Everything you need is supplied: the mosaic base, all types of tesserae (including varieties of vitreous glass, stained glass, ceramic tile, metallic gems), glue, grout and other miscellaneous tools. In this class, you'll learn about mosaic pattern layout, cutting tesserae, adhesives, mosaic-ing basics as well as the grouting process. Your project will be ready to grout about 48 hours after the class ends (or after you complete your project, whichever is later). The price includes a return visit for grouting your project anytime during our regular business hours (or a grouting "to-go" kit). At the end of the class, you'll have learned a new art form and you'll have a new piece of decor for your home. Recommended for ages 14 and up. Register through CSI Community Education.
